Louisiana POST Council Finalizes Military Police Officer Certification Pathway for Veterans

BATON ROUGE, La.  – The Louisiana Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Council has officially approved and published the requirements for the new Louisiana POST Military Police Officer Course, establishing a dedicated pathway for U.S. military police veterans seeking certification as Louisiana peace officers.

This program recognizes the extensive law enforcement training and experience military police personnel bring from their service and provides a streamlined opportunity for qualified veterans entering civilian law enforcement careers.

Eligibility Requirements

According to the POST Council, Military Police Officers may be eligible for certification if they meet the following requirements and are hired AFTER July 1, 2025:
