The Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home is located in Reserve on 20 acres next to the VA Community Based Outpatient Clinic in St. John the Baptist Parish. Our 156-bed veterans home has its own in-house barber/beauty shop, where our occupants love to get a fresh cut or new hairdo. Leaving the shop, some may enjoy a lively game of poker, while others challenge themselves with puzzles in the library. We’re extremely thankful for the support of the local community and all they do for our veterans.
This veterans home is conveniently located near Ascension, Assumption, Jefferson, Lafourche, Orleans, Plaquemines, St. Bernard, St. Charles, St. James, St. John the Baptist, St. Mary, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, Terrebonne and Washington parishes. Veterans are not required to reside in any of these parishes to live in the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Home.
Apply for Admission
Louisiana veterans who are honorably discharged, in wartime or peacetime, and served 90 days of active duty; spouses of veterans; and Gold Star parents are eligible to live in a veterans home. Individuals interested in living in a veterans home can complete an admissions application and submit it to our admissions coordinator.
How to Help
We welcome volunteers who want to give back to the hundreds of veterans who call one of our veterans homes their forever home. Our veterans love activities, from bingo to crafts and much more! Individuals or groups may sponsor and/or call bingo, donate food and drinks or bring their therapy animal for a visit. In addition, there are many events held at our veterans homes throughout the year, and volunteers are welcome for those as well. Contact us to find out how you can help.
