The Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery is located in southwest Caddo Parish and primarily serves a 75-mile radius which includes northwest Louisiana, northeast Texas and southwest Arkansas.
In 1999, the state veterans cemetery program was established by the Louisiana Legislature within the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs due to a limited amount of national cemetery burial space in the state. Eight years later, in 2007, the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery was dedicated. When at full capacity, the cemetery will accommodate more than 22,000 burial sites on more than 80 acres.
The cemetery’s tranquil grounds in the hills of northwest Louisiana provide a final resting place of honor for veterans, as well as their spouses and dependent children. The Memorial Garden is also available for the scattering of cremains.

How to Help
We welcome volunteers who want to honor our veterans by helping to maintain the dignity of our cemetery grounds. Volunteers are especially appreciated on event days such as Memorial Day and Wreaths Across America Day, where extra hands help make these important ceremonies possible. We also accept weekday volunteers to assist with tasks such as cleaning headstones, planting flowers, weeding and general grounds maintenance. Contact us to find out how you can help.
