Governor Proclaims Louisiana Veterans Small Business Week to Honor and Support Veteran-Owned Businesses
BATON ROUGE, La. — Governor Jeff Landry has proclaimed November 3–7, 2025, as Louisiana Veterans Small Business Week, recognizing the vital role that veteran-owned small businesses play in driving Louisiana’s economy, fostering innovation, and strengthening local communities.
Veterans bring the same dedication, discipline, and leadership that defined their military service to the business world—contributing to Louisiana’s economic growth, job creation, and community development. Across every industry, from construction to technology, agriculture to retail, veteran entrepreneurs continue to make a lasting impact on the state’s success.
The Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs (LDVA) joins in celebrating veteran business owners throughout the state and encourages all Louisianans to support and uplift these entrepreneurs not just this week, but year-round. By shopping at, hiring from, and partnering with veteran-owned businesses, residents help ensure the continued growth and success of those who have served.
To further assist Louisiana’s veteran entrepreneurs, the state along with SBA offers a variety of programs and resources designed to empower veterans to start, grow, and sustain their businesses, including:
SBA Boots to Business Program – provides training and guidance for veterans transitioning into entrepreneurship.
Louisiana Veterans Small Business Week serves as a reminder of the enduring value that veterans bring to the state’s economy and the importance of supporting them as they build the next chapter of their service—through business ownership and leadership.
