LaVetCorps

A Partnership for Education

In Louisiana, nearly 11,000 veterans and their dependents produced $196 million in federal funding to in-state higher education communities each year through GI Bill® funding.

LaVetCorps is a collaboration between the Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs and AmeriCorps dedicated to connecting veterans and their families to resources, support and opportunities on college campuses across Louisiana.

On-Campus Resources
for Student Veterans

Transitioning from military service to college can come with unique challenges. LaVetCorps helps student veterans and their dependents navigate those challenges with dedicated support on campus. Through LaVetCorps, veterans have direct access to navigators dedicated to ensuring they’re receiving their earned federal and state benefits, connecting with campus resources and building a strong community while in school.

LaVetCorps Navigators work in student veteran centers at public and private colleges and universities across Louisiana. They help student veterans access federal and state benefits, connect with Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs services and find resources that support their educational goals.
