BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs (LDVA) has launched the use of a secure, online claims management software solution built for veteran service officers and state departments.
VetraSpec is a complete, web-based, secure Veteran’s Claims Management Software System that includes extensive reporting capabilities. It allows LDVA’s Veterans Assistance Counselors and Paralegals to access data from any computer with Internet access. No more mailing paper files from office to office- all data is stored in one, centralized, secure location.
“We’ve heard from veterans across the state and have found a solution to many of their frustrations and concerns through the implementation of VetraSpec,” said LDVA Secretary Joey Strickland.
VetraSpec will allow authorized LDVA personnel to quickly and accurately prepare claims and complete VA forms, leading to less time in the waiting room for clients. The program features:
“Our veterans’ files will be migrated to a digital format, encrypted, and securely stored on redundant servers, where only authorized employees can access them,” said LDVA Deputy Assistant Secretary of Benefits Vanessa Melancon.
The LDVA holds the state’s VetraSpec user license. Cost to the Department was an initial set-up fee of $5,000.00 plus a $449.00 per user annual subscription.
It is expected to offer cost savings through decreased postage, printing and time, greater efficiency and accuracy, and the ability to generate reports and track trends.
