The cemetery was made possible at this location by a generous donation of 52 acres by the George B. Franklin Jr. family. We are designed to accommodate more than 31,000 veterans along with spouses and eligible dependents.
All services are held in our committal shelter equipped with sound and movable walls in the event of inclement weather. Services are held Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Our Carillon Bell Tower was donated by the American Veterans (AMVETS) National Foundation and our Louisiana AMVETS. Chimes are played on the hour, and song are played at different hours throughout the day.
The Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery held its first interment on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2015. In July of 2019, we were awarded the National Cemetery Administration Operational Excellence Award. It is an honor and a privilege to serve our veterans and their families.
