BATON ROUGE — The Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs, through a joint effort with Governor John Bel Edwards, the Louisiana Gold Star Families Honoring Committee, the Hershel “Woody” Williams Medal of Honor Foundation, and the National WWII Museum, is spearheading the building of a new Gold Star Families Memorial Monument in Baton Rouge this fall.
This monument will honor the families of Louisiana servicemen and women who sacrificed their lives while serving in the military. State Senator Jonathan Perry and State Representatives Helena Moreno and Chris Hazel will lead the legislative effort to approve the placement of the Louisiana Gold Star Families Memorial Monument in the State Capitol complex.
