LAKE CHARLES, La. – Veterans are cordially invited to the Lake Charles Veterans Lunch & Learn being held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at American Legion Post #1, located at 1530 9th Street in Lake Charles, La., on Wednesday, April 24. This event is being sponsored by CHRISTUS Health US Family Health Plan.
Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary Joey Strickland will be the keynote speaker, and several of his key team members will be there to brief on their areas of responsibility, and to answer questions.
“For us, every day is Veterans Day and every day is Memorial Day,” said LDVA Secretary Joey Strickland. “My Department is participating is these events, which are being held across the state this year, so that we can hear the needs and concerns of our veterans, and can continue to help make each of their lives better.”
There is no registration needed or cost associated for veterans to attend this event. Several local organizations will be setting up resource tables during throughout the luncheon.
“Veterans hold a special place in our hearts and thoughts,” said CHRISTUS National Director of Health Plan Sales Matt Miles regarding his organizations desire to sponsor this luncheon. “They have put their lives on the line to defend our freedom and the American way of life.”
