KEITHVILLE, La. – Today, Louisiana Veterans Affairs Department (LDVA) announced that Donald “Don” Reed Howard has been named Director of Northwest Louisiana Veterans Cemetery (NWLVC). The Keithville, La., cemetery serves approximately 43,000 veterans.
Howard is no stranger to LDVA having served as LDVA’s Troops to Teachers Program Regional Director for six years previously.
“I’m looking forward to having Don back on our team,” said LDVA Secretary Joey Strickland. “I’ve worked with him in the past and know he will do an excellent job for us, and all of the veterans in north Louisiana.”
Howard, a veteran himself who served in the Mississippi National Guard and U.S. Army Reserves for a total of 16 years, expressed sincere commitment to LDVA’s mission and is looking forward to serving his fellow brothers and sister-in-arms, and their families.
