BATON ROUGE – Baton Rouge Parents Magazine, Louisiana Film Society, and The Kevin and Margaret Hines Foundation  present a special pre-release screening of Suicide: The Ripple Effect followed by and important discussion on the topic at the AMC Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. on Feb. 23.

Join Kevin Hines to watch this powerful film about hope and healing in it’s first theatrical screening. This event will also serve as a fundraiser for the Baton Rouge Crisis Intervention Center. Tickets are $10.00 a piece and can be purchased online, at: Gathr.

The film chronicles the story of Kevin Hines, who at age 19 attempted to take his life by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. Since then Kevin has been on a mission to use his story to help others find recovery and stay alive, and has become the worlds most prominent suicide prevention speaker and advocate. The film also features some of the world’s leading suicide prevention experts and shines light on people who are using personal experiences with suicide to help others find the hope they need to stay alive.

This inspirational and hopeful film was co-directed and produced by Kevin Hines and Baton Rouge native Greg Dicharry, and will be released globally on March 13th by Gathr Films Theatrical on Demand. Kevin and Greg are excited to share the film first with Baton Rouge.

After the screening Kevin will lead an important discussion on the topic with the goal of enhancing suicide prevention efforts in Baton Rouge and Beyond.

Panelist Include:

Greg Dicharry – Co Director and Co Producer of the film and founder of Baton Rouge based SmileStyle Entertainment, and he is a person in long term recovery.

Dr. Raymond Tucker- Board of Directors, American Association of Suicidology (AAS) Professor, Clinical Psychology Louisiana State University.

Tonja Myles , Set Free, US Veteran, radio host, Ordained Minister and Suicide Attempt Survivor.

Emma Benoit – Life Rejuvenated, Dutchtown High School Student, Suicide Attempt Survivor, www.liferejuvenated.org.
