LAVETBIZ

Louisiana’s Division of Administration (DOA) is charged with setting goals for state agencies with regard to encouraging veteran owned small businesses to compete for state contracts.

The current effort mirrors VETBIZ, a federal program administered by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA).  At the federal level, government aims to award 3% of all contracts to veteran owned businesses.  VA has set its sights higher, with a goal of 7%. 

LAVETBIZ stands to positively impact 326,000 veterans in LA, including approximately  37,000 with service connected disabilities.

LAVETBIZ complements the Hudson Initiative and various programs under Louisiana Economic Development (LED) and allows for a focus on veterans.
